The muscles are our body’s motor. Without strength there could be no movement – without movement, the muscles become weak and we become ill. Health-oriented strength training is fundamentally necessary.
Strength training is also important to accompany weight reduction, because only a strong motor burns a lot of energy and thereby raises the basic metabolic rate of the entire body.
Manhattan offers training areas over 3 floors. These are equipped with a total of more than 120 exercise machines from Cybex, Gym 80, Life Fitness and Technogym.
Manhattan Cardiovascular Training
Feel how your body works, notice how your muscles slowly warm up and experience how good it does you when life flows into your body. The great benefits of cardiovascular training to prevent diverse civilization diseases have been documented in many cases. We need our endurance as compensation for a sedentary lifestyle, as the basis for a healthy organism, as a counterpart to a stressful daily routine, and as a basis for many sporting activities.
All cardio machines are equipped with flat screens or Cardio Theater entertainment systems. So, you have a wide selection of TV and radio programs during your training.

Manhattan Functional Training
In sports, one-sided training that only lets particular muscles develop has been only one of many aspects for a long time. Nowadays, great value is placed on the correct carrying out of movement patterns that train whole groups of muscles. We often realize the importance of a well-functioning musculoskeletal system when, on the one hand, incorrectly stressed joints and muscles cause pain in daily activities and, on the other hand, prevent performance in sports.
In Manhattan’s fitness clubs, Functional Training in specially equipped areas with modern training machines is an essential element of Manhattan’s training philosophy.
Manhattan Fasciae & Mobility Training
People are born very mobile. Because of lack of movement over many years, the body loses flexibility and movement competence. Well-targeted fasciae and movement exercises should therefore be a part of every holistic training. The Manhattan clubs offer special areas and machines for this purpose. They combine the highest standards in design, functionality and quality and, after individual training advice, assist you in the performance of the necessary exercises.
Manhattan Power Plate
The Power Plate principle was originally developed for Russian astronauts in order to enable strength training in the absence of gravity.
The Power Plate triggers natural muscle reflexes which are activated 30 to 50 times per second. As the muscle contracts , this results in just as many uncontrollable muscle contractions in the body. The Power Plate activates up to 98% of the muscle fibers, whereas during conventional strength training a maximum of 60% of the muscle fibers are reached. This in turn means that also deep-seated muscles as well as those important for the stabilization of the back and pelvic floor musculature are stimulated.
Our trainers recommend Power Plate training as a useful addition to conventional training. Use of the Power Plate, after advice from one of our trainers, is free of charge.
